ARRHYTHMIA, ATRIAL FIBRILATION & DE-STRESSING THE BODY
My story started at age 47 when I suddenly developed arrhythmia for several hours a day. I tried Ayurvedic medicine, Homeopathy, Acupuncture, Prescription drugs, Operations (ablations) and more prescription drugs. None of these had any effective, long lasting results. The side effects of drugs were almost worse than arrhythmia and the ablations only gave me three months freedom from arrhythmia.
By the time I was 50 I decided that I was going to have to fight this myself and immediately started to change my diet. I eventually met with a doctor who put me onto vitamin pills and a Naturopath who put me onto CoQ10 supplements. The results were immediate and I got two hours relief when I took CoQ10 and vitamins together. I then met with a friend who put me onto USANA nutritional supplements and I got six hours relief from arrhythmia and atrial fibrillation (AF). I have effectively been mostly free of arrhythmia and AF since then without the use of any prescription drugs.
My story though is not quite as simple as taking a magical supplement, I have had to de-stress my body other ways as well which I did by changing my eating habits. My diet now consists of the following –

WHEAT FREE DIET
The theory behind the alkaline forming diet is that acidic food (most things processed and yummy to eat) will help to further deteriorate any illness or degenerative disease. No doctors have told this to me, I worked it out by studying the internet and then proved it works by trying it.
The stimulant free diet is obvious and most doctors will suggest eliminating tea, coffee, and chocolate. I also needed to stop all herbal tea, except camomile.
The wheat free diet came about from talking with people who had relieved all sorts of illnesses by not eating wheat. This is a hard one to follow as so many products have wheat in it. I found it helped immediately though and I still keep away from all wheat except now I can tolerate some pastries, for instance one slice of apple pie.
I mostly eat certified organic fresh plant based food with a very small amount of white meat twice a week.
STRESS FREE LIFE STYLE
A stress free life style for me meant giving up working as a supervisor on a mine site and having a job with responsibility for myself but not for others. It led me down an amazing path of learning what stress is and how I could use appreciation, acceptance, forgiveness and compassion towards myself and the people in my life. All sorts of stress in my life started to reduce and I began to heal my body, mind and spirit.
My illness has become an amazing healing for all aspects of my life. I recently heard a public talk by a cardiologist who said to remember these three words - “Hurry,Worry,Curry.” Don’t rush anything, don’t worry at all and watch what you eat.
These are the nutritional supplements I use which have helped me de-stress my body and allows me to live a life 90% free of arrhythmia and AF.
ESSENTIALS (Vitamins, minerals & broad spectrum Anti-oxidants) COQUINONE (CoQ10) BIOMEGA-3 (Omega 3, EPA & DHA) E-PRIME (Vitamin E) POLY C (Vitamin C, broad spectrum)
ESSENTIALS
The Essentials which consist of vitamins, minerals and broad spectrum antioxidants are designed to have the right ingredients in the right amounts and balance for optimum health at cellular level. The Essentials are the basic minimum requirement when using the other USANA optimisers listed above.
COQUINONE The ability to absorb and synthesise CoQ10 diminishes as we get older and is lowered with the use of some pharmaceutical drugs such as Statins. It is especially important for heart function and is responsible for significantly reducing my Atrial Fibrillation.
BIOMEGA-3 Biomega3 is the USANA brand name for Omega3 which is especially important for the heart and on the recommendation of a cardiologist I am now taking 3 grams a day. This equates to two USANA Biomega3 capsules three times a day and is responsible for significantly reducing my arrhythmia. Biomega3 is guaranteed to be virtually free of heavy metals including mercury. Many manufacturers cannot give this guarantee.
NUTRIMEAL and SOYMAX
I also use Nutrimeal which is a USANA low glycemic index meal replacement to increase the protein in my daily diet which also helps to alleviate arrhythmias especially when I use them to replace a carbohydrate or sugar food. Even just a moderate sugar intake can cause arrhythmia just as much as stimulants can like coffee or tea. I take this meal replacement as a mid morning snack to keep me going until lunch time as it keeps my blood sugar levels under control.

Atrial fibrillation is the most common cardiac arrhythmia (abnormal heart rhythm) and involves the two upper chambers (atria) of the heart. Its name comes from the fibrillating (i.e. quivering) of the heart muscles of the atria, instead of a coordinated contraction. It can often be identified by taking a pulse and observing that the heartbeats don't occur at regular intervals. However, a conclusive indication of AF is the absence of P waves on an electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG), which are normally present when there is a coordinated atrial contraction at the beginning of each heart beat. Risk increases with age, with 8% of people over 80 having AF.
